Fair Runner Policy

I've been having a think. Some of you who know me will have seen that I've had to cancel a few races recently. I signed up for them a year ago.

Thankfully, some of those race organisers have allowed me to transfer my entry to someone else. The offshoot of this is that I will be entering those events in the future.

As a result of this, I'm changing my policy. I can't allow refunds as the budget depends on the money that's in, and I can't reasonably offer deferrals as I can't offer a cast-iron guarantee that the event will go on next year.
However, I will be allowing you to give your entry to another runner if you can't make it yourself. All I ask is that you let me know at least 7 days in advance and give me the details of the runner you are transferring to.

This is in keeping with the policies offered by the likes of White Star and Saxons, Vikings and Normans, and I think that it's a fair way to approach things.

Of course, what that means is you can enter the event in advance now safe in the knowledge that if something should happen - injury, big-time mental blow-up, that sort of thing- you have a fair runner policy looking out for you.
